Ninpo Budo Taijutsu is a system of combat and self defense consisting of 9 systems of study with a unique Japanese history reaching back 900 years. This Ninja art is the only Japanese Ninja art recognized by the government of Japan and is still taught authentically by the current 34th Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi.

Martial Arts

Ninjutsu is comprised of many different physical techniques and movements that adapt themselves to various body types and environments. Not only does it contain punches, kicks, parries, and counter strikes, but it deals equally in grappling and everything associated with it, such as locks, holds, throws, and chokes. In addition to this, Ninjutsu is concerned with learning how to prevent injuries by teaching one how to fall, roll, and escape from all the above techniques correctly. Last but not least, one can expect to work with all kinds of weapons dealing with short, medium, and long range distances which run the gamut from guns, knives, and shuriken all the way to swords, ropes, staffs, spears, and maybe even an occasional umbrella, cane, or newspaper!

Ninpo Budo Taijutsu also developed as a means for spiritual and physical development as well as mental training for learning survival and fighting strategy. Strictly defined, Ninpo Budo Taijutsu consists of combat arts, or methods for killing an opponent in battle. Martial ways or Budo though, are those arts that have a spiritual component, and which go beyond combat effectiveness and serve the purpose of continual refinement for personal improvement and introspection as a warrior.

Today, the martial arts are practiced for health and fitness, personal and family self defense and protection, or for bodyguards, military, and law enforcement.
